| http://newsblaze.com/story/2008051907030700026.pnw/topstory.html I know Matte & Yank were talking about competing in a 5K. BUT how about we compete together in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay? All we need is a 4th. "It involves a team of 4 participants each running a leg of varying distances to cover the entire 26.2 mile course. The relay consists of 2 eight mile legs and 2 five mile legs. | He Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken... I would be happy if I could complete a 5k let alone even one of those legs... not to mention its all on concrete.
cant we just start with a 5k first? 5k = 3.1 miles

cant we just start with a 5k first? 5k = 3.1 miles You won't go hiking (not on concrete) and you don't want to run in anything eventful. What gives? You were just bluffing about racing Matte. As for 5Ks there are plent in March & April, so take your pick. It will help you get prepared for the Relay in May. 10K = 6.2 miles Which is more than 2 of the legs.... I wasn't in track or x-country and I've ran this thing twice. I ran the 5 mile porting going into Oakland. Which is basically all up hill. If you guys (Matte & Dave) will train for the 2 5-mile portions and find someone to run the other 8miles. I'll begin training for the other 8. Just don't b1tch that it takes me and 1.5 hours to complete. Training for 8 miles in 3 months in tough, but I got my iPod. Not to mention the longest I ever ran is probably around 7 miles and it was on the treadmill at the gym 3+ years ago. I guess I'm going to need new sneakers. Who's with me!!!!!!

I figured I'd be good both ways. You'd obviously see the compliment. Davey, would not be able to comprehend and see it as a compliment as well.

| Deadline Saturday 1/31. Are you in or out of the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay? Let me know, because it we can't get a team together I'm running it through work. The relay legs are divided as such: Leg one is 7.9 miles; leg two is 5.2 miles; leg three is 7.8 miles; and leg four is 5.3 miles. Marathon Relay (4 person relay) $150 until January 10, 2009 $175 from January 11 until March 14 <-- $200 from March 15 until April 30 $220 May 1-2 @ Packet Pick-Up/Late Registration Which means it would be $43.75 per person. Plus whatever taxes or what not that is added when all is said and done. http://www.pittsburghmarathon.com/Marathon_Events/Marathon_Relay.htm | |
